HP Designjet 800 PS und MacOSX SnowLeopard

Hallo Leute, entgegen der Empfehlungen von Nemetschek N.A. habe ich auf einem Rechner schon mal MacOSX 10.6.2 installiert. DIe Fehler, die VW2009 da machen soll, haben mich nicht übermäßig beunruhigt und in der Tat funktioniert es relativ problemlos. (Außerdem ist ja ein VW 2009 Update für November angekündigt worden, fragt sich allerdings welcher November... :mrgreen: )

Blöd ist allerdings, dass mein HP Designjet 800 PS seit dem Update auf diesem Rechner nicht mehr unterstützt wird (auch seit dem jüngsten Treiber-Update für HP nicht, welches gestern automatisch über Software-Update eingespielt wurde).

Der Drucker wird einfach nicht mehr im Netzwerk erkannt.

Hat da schon jemand eine Lösung?

Edit: scheinbar hat es damit zu tun, dass Snow-Leopard kein AppleTalk mehr unterstützt. Man zahlt also extra, damit man später weniger hat als vorher. Das ist mal ein update...

So, nachdem sich ja jeder selbst der nächste ist, werde ich mein Anliegen jetzt auch selbst beantworten:

Here's how I got my Designjet 5000PS working with Snow Leopard.

 

Con??guring TCPIIP on the HP Designjet 5000, 5500, 800, and 500 series printers

NOTE: A delay of approximately 30 seconds may be expected between each step.

1. From the Front Panel, use the arrow buttons to highlight the printer icon and press ENTER.

2. Press the Up arrow key until llO Setup appears. Press ENTER,

3. Press the Down arrow to Card Setup and press ENTER. Highlight Con??guration,

ENTER,

4. From the Front Panel message of Cfg Network=No, press ENTER.

5. Press the Up arrow key to change to Yes. Press ENTER,

6. Press the Up arrow key until Cfg TCP/IP=No appears, Press ENTER.

7. Press the Up arrow key to change to Yes. Press ENTER.

8. Press the Up arrow until BOOTP=Yes appears. Press ENTER.

9. Press the Up arrow key to change to No. Press ENTER.

NOTE: If BOOTP=Yes, the printer is con??gured to retrieve its TCP/IP parameters

overthe network from a BOOTP, RARP, or DHCP server. If BOOTP=NO, the

printer is con??gured to accept TCP/IP parameters from the Front Panel.

10. On HP Jetdirect print servers with ??rmware L.20.04 or greater, press the Up arrow

DHCP=yes appears. Press ENTER.

11. Press the Up arrow key to change to No. Press ENTER.

12. Press the Up arrow key until IP Byte1=xxx appears.

13. To change the IP byte, proceed as follows:

a. Press ENTER.

b. Press the Up or Down arrow key to change the number.

c. Press ENTER.

d. Press the Up arrow key to continue to IP Byte2=xxx.

e. Press ENTER.

14. Con??gure the remaining bytes ofthe IP address in the same manner.

15. Con??gure the subnet mask bytes (SM), syslog server IP address (LG), default gateway (GW),

and timeout (TIMEOUT) inthe same manner.

NOTE: When the HP Jetdirect print server is given a syslog server IP address, it can

generate syslog messages and send them to that. If no syslog sewer is on the

network, skip this setting,

16. The TIMEOUT parameter default is 90 seconds. Up to 3,600 seconds can be conhgured. lf set

to the timeout feature of the HP Jetdirect print server is disabled â??- TCP/IP connections

will remain open until closed by the sewer.

17. To save this information:

a.Designjet 5000: Press the BACK button three times, then press the TOP button to

save the con??guration,

b.Designjet 500 and 800: Press the BACK button four times and wait until the Ready

message is displayed,

c.Turn the printer off, then turn it on to refresh the new settings.

Man muss dem Designjet wie in dem Link erklärt eine feste IP zuweisen und dann am Mac über Drucker hinzufügen IP Printer auswählen, hier HP Jetdirect wählen und dann die (richtige..) IP vom Plotter eintragen, dem Plotter einen putzigen Namen geben (unserer heißt jetzt Heißmangel), unten die richtige Treibervesrion auswählen und dann sollte es auch schon gehen.

Übrigens kann man am Designjet AppleTalk trotzdem angeschaltet lassen, damit Rechner mit älteren Betriebssystemvarianten trotzdem weiterhin AppleTalk nutzen können.
