Blum Metabox displacement

Hi,

 

Has anyone experienced this before? When I changed the cabinet name, the drawer runner positions also changed. I made this Blum Metabox myself, and while assembling three of these units, I realized all the drillings were wrong. After inspecting the file, I noticed this strange behavior.

Nope, I inspected the connector file, and could not find any indications in it. The changes in cabinet name will change the hardware position. Is the hardware drillings/3D model associating with the cabinet name???  I will revert back to IC 2023 at some point

ps. i dont got 24 online now, i wait til 25 is released, then maybe 99 % of the bugs are gone.

Ah.... Are you confident 99% of the bugs will be fixed?  I just canceled the VW service select a couple of weeks ago . 

 

I've been using IC since mid-2020, so it's been four years. Before IC, I used iMos CAD for six years to design kitchens. When iMos stopped working with a local reseller, I switched to IC in that year, thinking these two software were similar.

 

After four years and dealing with so many bugs that affect production, I'm getting tired of this software. I'm saving some money, hoping to reconnect with iMos AG. I liked how their strong and flexible SQL system allowed me to customize everything with complex variables and accurate production drilling and machining. I never experience so many  bugs or software limitations with iMos. The only thing I liked about VW was its better design interface, but there are too many workarounds needed to make IC works to product design and production. 

 

I'm done with it. Also, sometimes VW updates, it seem to affect IC as well.

To be honest, for IC users (in this Interiorcad Forum) like you, having so much capability/knowledge with Interiorcad and finding workaround solutions for complex tasks in the cabinet-making industry are truly admirable.

The cabinets in your library have no hardware like connectors, hinges and drawers?

i just finished another cabinet with box drawer Vorbereitung Korpen.vwx

next step will be, the polygon pickable in a dropdown, then i will experiment with parametrical 2D Relations

 

and voila i can make parametric related cabinet strings rdy for production with all nc, sales etc.

 

if the customer will have something different i only need to adjust to duplicate the polygon, moddify it, rename it. polygon or change the cabinets, or make another cabinet and modify it.

 

+ if the customer then tell me "nah the first variant was better, i only change the polygon again backl to what it was  ^^

 

BUT u need red symbols and a good machine/computer.

 

after making object-node of this wrapper + i can save the hole stuff as a style in the "zubehoermanager"

The constraints in VW parametric work well with four or five-sided geometry. However, when it extends to six sides and more, like in an L-shaped cabinet polyline 2D geometry, the constraints don't work properly. I noticed that in AutoCAD, the parametric/variable constraints are more reliable.

i only need to contrain the polgygons segments length, its angles and its position in the file.

Both TopSolid and VW use the same Parasolid kernel, but they are designed and customized differently. VW focuses more on architecture (with IC as an add-on in it), while TopSolid is more tailored to engineering and the cabinet-making industry. The needs of these industries are very different. Honestly, there are many functions in VW that I don't use daily.

That's good, you found a new way to make it work the way you like. 

 

I need to spend some time to figure out why the drawers were moved.

ok the adjustment of drawer back (i used there a blindfront) and the sides is not trivial, but its working.
