Hi

 

Is there a known glitch with the hinge grids?

I'm having trouble with the grid layouts. It seems to default to a 32mm spacing and I can't get the grid I need

Thanks. There are several grids in your documents. Which one is the bad one? And please also describe how you want the grid to behave.

The issue i have is with the "Hinge 3d" tool, when i change to anything other than the grid that is selected automatically, It switches to 32mm centres and wont let me change from that to anything else. even if i select one of the other grids, its stays at 32mm centres.

 

In the attached picture, the cabinet on the left has hinges that have been placed using the fittings tab in the setting pallette. i have no problems placing hinges that way.

The cabinet on the right has hinges placed using the "Hinges 3d" tool, the LH door has hinges placed with the default selected grid when i select the tool, the RH door has hinges placed using any of the other grids i select. they all stay the same at 32mm centres all the way up. 

 

Is the focus to start positioning the hinges within the cabinet settings box and fittings tab? if so i just need to make the switch to that, rather than waiting until the drawing is completed to add all hardware & fittings

Now I'm with you! Using the Hinge 3D tool you have two options placing your hinges. One is to select the door and the other is to select the side. Seems you're trying to place hinges having selected the side of the cabinet. The grids you're being provided with are rows of holes. If you want to place your hinges that way you have to deactivate the method in which you place a hinge on each grid point.

 

 

If you select the side of the cabinet once you're in the Hinge 3D tool you can place hinges according to the door height.

I have the error too.

 

quick selection doesn't work.
If you want to select the hinge, the base plate or the grid... you have to open the selection field completely and make your selection there from the complete selection.

There is currently no other way.

The developers introduced a bug.

After I saw your video, I knew exactly what problem you had.

 

If you have two doors, you have to place the hinges from the outside. The selection took me a day until I discovered the solution in my video.

 

You're probably also working with version SP6...

 

I often have problems that drawings with old SP...'s no longer work completely on the latest versions (SP6).
Recently I stopped seeing the pages. In addition, the row of holes was missing in the NC export...

Hallo @David Zehntner kannst du meine Datei an @Marcel Ostendorf weitergeben, @Captainwrinkles hat das selbe Problem bei der Scharnier-Auswahl.

 

Die Schnellselektion funktioniert nicht, wenn die Scharniere z.B. bei 2-flg. Türen von aussen eingesetzt werden.

Damit die Auswahl erfolgreich getroffen werden kann, muss das Dropdown-Menü ganz aufgeklappt und unter "weitere" neu gewählt werden.

Ansonsten springt VW auf die vorherige Selektion zurück.

 

Bitte auch prüfen:

Oft erstelle ich Verkaufs-Zeichnungen passend zu einem Angebot Monate vor der eigentlichen Produktion 2022 --> 2023.

von einem Servicepack zum nächsten gibt es dann manchmal einen "Reibungsverlust" zwischen den Versionen.
