A question to "Projektposition über die Infopalette zuweisen".

Hi @Marcel Ostendorf

Sorry, I have a question on the Projektposition function, I have been watching your video multiple times, and playing around with the new function for a while and I can’t figure out what benefits/advantages of having this function integrated into the info Palette. ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HtbqrBUZTOw )

So, I would like to ask what benefits/solutions this function gives to users.

When I watched the video a couple of months ago, I was wondering if this function works like changing variables, for example, you can change the kitchen door material(or hardware) according to the defined Project position; like changing the wall cupboard doors to Ash, base drawer fronts to Oak and tall cupboard doors to Walnut, etc.  Working this way can speed up changing materials/hardware on different groups of cabinets or parts without selecting each of the cabinets

Obviously, I made a wrong assumption myself and I would like to get more information on this function.

Thanks for your time.

Sorry, I forgot to ask if the next IC 2023 update say F4.X or F5 will include the new drawer tool functions. Currently, they are in preview only (F4).

Hi Nap,

no hasty promises. We are working on it and this might take some time.

Hello Nap,

This feature allows to assign a project position to your cabinets and custom parts directly in the object info palette. Previously, you had to do this via the menu, and now it's a little bit quicker.

What you mean is something different, but also works from now on (feature preview). You can select sets for one or more cabinets in the object info palette and change the material or the construction of the plinth without entering the cabinet dialog.

Hi Marcel,

Thanks for your reply.

I wish one day you can show us more benefits of this new function with a short or quick video. 👍

Nap

Hi @Marcel Ostendorf

I finally activated the "Preview" for Wooden drawers and Sets in the Object Info palette from Interiorcad Preferences.

There was no information for showing how to activate it so that's why I wished you to show us more information in the future video. But I accidentally saw someone mention this in another topic and found it. Now I can see the benefits of the new "Position" function! It seems like more "Sets" will be included in the info palette. 👍👍

I wish the new "Position" function can let us change the "Sets" without selecting each unit. So we can change the variables from Info Palette, currently, users still need to select each cabinet if a set needs to be changed for a group of cabinets.

Also, I wish IC can automatically join the front plinth if two adjacent cabinets are placed together. For example, a splitting principle on 2410mm will be very beneficial to generate the parts. At the moment the CNC exports every single front plinth.

I would like to ask if is there a quick way to join the front plinth together?

Thanks for your time.
