Contour 3D tool idea

Hello team, 

 

I currently develop a few cabinets with the Contour 3D tool. I personally love this function as it is very intuitive and easy to use. 

However, here is a challenge to me as I am new to this tool, and looking for your opinion on this tool. 

My question is, is there a way to make the Contour 3D tool smarter? I using it to make a cutout in the cabinet, and mirror it to other side. It is working good! 

But, when I change the drawer size, the cutout locations are not changed accordingly. So, I have to manually move them up and down to fit the shelf. This becomes a big job when the job has multiple cabinets.

 

Ideally, the cutout which created by Contour 3D will follow the changes on drawer sizes. It might be good to have something that can group the Contour 3D with cabinet parts.

Hi Chris & Marcel, I did consider the Object tool in the beginning, and thought would be hard to attach the Contour to the ends of fixed shelves as parameters changed with shelves. 

 

It was a bit late last night when working on this challenge, and I have a fresh idea of making it work with Cabinet 3D in the morning.
