Globale Variablen

Ich glaube, das steht hier noch nirgends so:

 

ich würde mir Wünschen eine Tabelle mit Variablen anlegen zu können in der ich zB. KB1 (Korpusmöbelbreite 1) mit 600 belegen kann, wenn ich aber denke, dass alle Korpusmöbel mit der Variablen bitte doch 500 werden sollen, weinfach den Tabellenwert ändere um die zu ändern. 

 

Das diese Werte sollten natürlich bei allen Feldern in IC eingetragen werden können. Die Tabelle sollte wie dauere Paletten im Seitenbereich einfach zugänglich sein.

 

Sollte doch nen leichtes sein sowas zu implementieren

Yeah, global variable is a great concept when things, hardware or other elements need to be changed at the same time or individually. You could use a table to change them without editing them in the Cabinet 3D window. If cabinet sizes could be turned to variables, then almost everything could be recorded in the database and make them as variables, such as the selection of material, hinges, drawer runners, connectors, descriptors, 3D contour ...... almost everything can be turned to variables. 

 

But from my understanding (maybe I am wrong), designing such variable system/table could be a big job, as a well structure database system could be required; and it needs to be running at the background with Vectorworks (but depends on how deep the variable system can go into). This might not be realistic in a short time as the foundation of IC might need to be restructured. Doing this could cause lots of bugs and failures and end up irritating customers to leave the product. Plus, IC is running on both both Mac OS and Windows platforms, which already doubled the jobs to tune it I think.

 

Not very sure if IC is willing to develop variable systems in the future?

 

If yes, it’s a great news. If not, I think IC has a bit room to improve the Object tool (very smart tool) in Cabinet 3D tool to make things work like a variable system, but in Cabinet 3D tool. I have described my idea in this thread before:

 

 

 

 

Currently, we can insert a cabinet in the Object space, but the settings, hardware or construction/material are locked. If IC allows us to change the cabinet settings in the Object, it will give us a very fundamental way to build cabinets with “variables”.
