napwszzm Geschrieben 25. Oktober 2021 Geschrieben 25. Oktober 2021 Hello team, I would like to what is the quickest way to turn the cabinet partition 90degree? A customer asked me to build several cabinets with an internal partition and shelves. Is there a way to turn the partition 90 degree, and add movable/adjustable shelves to stop at the partition? I tried to ungroup the unit, but the parametric function will be lost after grouping them back. Thanks a lot. Nap
kingchaos Geschrieben 25. Oktober 2021 Geschrieben 25. Oktober 2021 Hi, maybe you add some Backwall in the middle? In case u ungroup the 3d-Korpus-Object you have to be careful with the edges, last week i discovered a problem with the 4 edges von vertical 3D-Parts. 3D-Parts u get while u ungroup the Korpus have different descriptions, then 3D-Parts u make with Part 3 D. In the Korpus they are called left/right/top/bottom and in 3D-Parts created by your own they are calles 1,2,3,4. Can your please check, wether your edges will be nearly randomly manipulated by VW if u change the length and width (please use this VWX file for this test). Here i have 3 different edges on a vertical lying part-3D, only the top has no edge. then i change the grain with length-width-change then the 3D-Part has only 2 Edges, left and right. NExt point, if I have 4 different edges on my 3D-Part, VW copies the edge from the top and copies it on the bottom edge, when i change length-width. So, its not very possible to make another back unless us custom part. I did a test when ungrouping the cabinet, and changed the width to length, and length to width etc. It seems working well on my side, no edge is missing. Did you check your edging database to see if the material is in it? Thanks Nap
kingchaos Geschrieben 27. Oktober 2021 Geschrieben 27. Not sure if the changes are what you wanted. Please check the video below, I made the ege 20mm thick for illustration. 2021-10-27-19-55-10.mp4 It seems working well. Cheers Nap

kingchaos Geschrieben 27. Oktober 2021 Geschrieben 27. Oktober 2021 yeah, but finally u tried it with my file? In your example bottom and top has the same edge. In my file the bottom and top have different edges or only 1 on bottom or on top. Then they change each other if u change length and width. I guess one of them should be "Top". In the two "bottom" case, if you disable one bottoms to swap the dimensions, the "top" might be recognized as bottom therefore both of the "bottom" edges will be disabled. I am not sure if this the problem comes from? Maybe change one of the bottom to top, and this issue could be fixed ? Thanks Nap
Stephan Mönninghoff Geschrieben 27. Oktober 2021 Geschrieben 27. Oktober 2021 Hi everyone, The edgbanding bug was reported yesterday and went straight to development. We are analysing the issue. @kingchaos may I ask you to stay on topic please? The original question from @napwszzm went under completely, although it is something a lot of users might be interested in. You are welcome to raise your edgebanding issue in a separate thread. Thank you. Nap, have you tried using a back panel? It seems like the logical solution to your question, unless I am overlooking something...

I did try the back panel way, but could not get the result I wanted. I am thinking to message you with a video which will be easier for me to explain it. I could use the old school DXF to program the job if it's too hard in IC. Here is a quick look of the third kitchen I did with IC. My customer she is very happy and looking forward for my quote of another part of the kitchen. Cheers Nap 1

Stephan Mönninghoff Geschrieben 27. Oktober 2021 Geschrieben 27. Oktober 2021 Hi Nap, very nice project. Love the handle detail. Do you know that you can visualise that type of handle by using an NC-Macro with a symbol to subtract the geometry? Here is a video on how to do that:
Stephan Mönninghoff Geschrieben 27. Oktober 2021 Geschrieben 27. Oktober 2021 As for the double shelves: I had some success using a double stretcher but you need to set the depth to a fixed value which is not exactly what you want. I'm thinking of entering an enhancement request. We want to be able to use something like in CSS styling where we could enter "width: calc(50% - 9px)". Now, if we could do that with mm we would be one step ahead. (The centre partition is a drawer front inset and with some extra overlay but it's getting hacky...

It's getting very close to what I wanted, I need to adjust the shelf holes drillings after changing the dimension. I think ungrouping a cabinet is not a very good idea in this case. I have bought Zeta machine, the Clamex works very well. Thanks a lot. Nap

ChrisKo showed his way to do it, i think his idea is more intuitive for me. It's a bit hard for me to follow your way, it's a bit more advanced for me. I prefer an easy and fast way (i know it's not all the time). Thanks a lot. Nap

Here is a video on how to do that: Hi Stephan, I had watched this video three times in the first week when I bought Interiocad. It is the idea helps me to make the plywood material in IC. It was a bit time consuming to get the right 3D shape to link to the NC. But I am thinking to learn more NC-Macro, which I think it's a great tool for me, during the Christmas holiday. I have done a few kitchens with CNC profiled handles, below are a few examples. Would it be possible for Interirocad to subtract the NC-Macro DXF layers and link them to a CAM? Thanks Nap

Hi Nap, the macro just passes the values to another macro (or, sometimes called "component") in the machine software. You need fairly advanced machine software (Woodwop, Hops, BSolid,...) to get components. I doubt you will be able to do it with DXF but I can shoot you the details of a Kiwi associate who has deep knowledge of the DXF workflows. PM me if you want to get in touch with him. 1
